Annual oil and filter change in March

Check for leaks and condition of battery and electrical gear

• Exhaust mountings broken and pipe joint leaking. Flexi pipe fitted to absorb vibration.
• Battery failed - charger found to be overcharging - voltage controlled charger fitted.

• Starter motor cranking slowly - poor starting

Found to be contaminated with diesel leaking from spillways - spilways repaired. Sludge damaged armature - starter motor rebuilt by Burghfield Starters & Alternators (0118 983 2284)

• 32A plug and socket fused together (neutral pin melted). Checked associated wiring - all seemed OK - replaced plug and socket. Incorrect protection on clubhouse distribution board. Fit correct breakers.

Spring 2012

• Main alternator brush found to be broken, alternator removed and sent for rebuild.

Autumn 2011

• Moved generator to new enclosure, rebuilt fuel supply and exhaust system. Rerouted supplies FROM Leading auxilliary generator and TO clubhouse and hangar. Fitted earth spike and RCDs to both circuits.

May 2011

• Starter motor commutator found to be wrecked.

- Fitted exchange unit from Burghfield Starters and Alternators.

Nov 2010

• Injectors overhauled by Rayner Deisel, Newbury
• Annual Service.

- poor starting to be addressed.

2009

• Oil drain point extended beyond frame.
• Spill rack repaired.
• Broken rocker arm replaced.

NB type with decompresser no longer available (i.e. generally the de compressors do not work)
