Maintenance Schedule
Tost Winch Maintenance Schedule[edit]
Daily (Driver inspection - see also Winch Driver's Manual)
Check and top up if necessary, the following on both winch and road chassis:
> Engine oil
> Auto transmission oil
> Radiator
> Fuel
Check fan belt - condition and tension
Check function of lights and gauges
Check serviceability of paying on gear and guillotines
Check tyres fully inflated
Monthly
Functional check of guillotines (without cutting cable) - BGA requirement
Check paying on rollers - lubricate as necessary, replace damaged items
Quarterly Check function of all gauges and warning lights
Check setting and function of rev limiter
Check fan belt - condition and tension
Check and top up if required, the following on both winch and road chassis;
> Engine oil (change oil and filter if engine is in 'daily' use)
> Auto transmission oil
> Radiator
> Main gearbox
> Right angle drive/back axle
> Dog clutch housings
> Scroll gear housings
> Brake fluid
> Clutch fluid
> Batteries
Investigate reasons for any significant topping up
Lubricate paying on gear pivots
Lubricate dog clutch selectors and linkage
Check/adjust tyre pressures. Check for damage or wear.
Half yearly
Important - check 300 lbs/ft torque on half shaft nuts
Change auto transmission oil and filter
Every autumn
Inspect hoses - replace if cracked or leaking
Check security of all hose clips
Check fan belt - condition and tension
Drain and refill cooling system with 30% (min) antif-freeze solution
